Larry E. Lein, President
Larry is currently President of Law Enforcement & Security Trainers, Inc.
(LEST, Inc.) and is a
retired Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Larry
possesses a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from George Washington University
in Washington, D.C. During Larry's 25
year employment with the FBI, he
attended numerous law enforcement defensive tactics training classes and
obtained instructor certifications in the following areas: Special Weapons and
Tactics (SWAT), Anti-Sniper and Officer Survival, Firearms Range master, Physical
Fitness, Civil Rights/Use of Force; he was the principle Defensive Tactics
Instructor of the Kansas City Division of the FBI at the time of his retirement.
He has been a police instructor for over 30 years. He holds advanced Black
Belt certifications in the martial arts disciplines of Jujitsu, Tae Kwon Do,
Hapkido, and Judo and currently assists in teaching Jujitsu classes at a local
community center in Kansas City. Prior to joining the FBI he spent seven
and half years in the United States Marine Corps, one tour of duty in Vietnam
and obtained the rank of Captain. He holds a Missouri Police Officers
Standards & Training (POST) Generalist Instructor
Certificate in the State of Missouri. Larry is charter member of the
International Law Enforcement Educators Trainers Association (ILEETA) and is a
member of the ILEETA Advisory Board.
Christopher Lein, Vice President
Chris is currently Vice
President of LEST, Inc. and is also an active duty police officer on the Kansas
City Missouri Police Department. Chris possesses a Bachelor's Degree in
Criminal Justice from the University of
Missouri at Kansas City. Chris has
been a national competitor in the sports of Judo and Sombo and has won several
individual championships. He holds advanced Black Belt certifications in
Judo, Jujitsu, Tae Kwon Do, and Hapkido and is active in teaching Jujitsu
classes at a local Kansas City community center. Chris has taken
instructor courses in PR-24 Baton, Expandable Baton, PPCT, Oleoresin Capsicum (OC),
Handgun Retention and Disarming, Knife Defense, Handcuffing, and Taser during
his career with the Kansas City Police Department. Chris was the originator of the idea to use Ude Garami as a control tactic for police work. Chris is a charter member
of ILEETA.
